Alice Hoag is a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed by the State of Georgia, a Board Certified Christian Counselor through the International Board of Christian Counselors, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and English Bible from Oral Roberts University, and a Masters of Science degree in Applied Behavioral Studies with an emphasis in Community Counseling from Oklahoma State University. During her graduate work, she specialized in marriage and family therapy.
Alice experienced the trauma of sexual abuse as a teen, and of placing her birth-child up for adoption, as well as the struggles of divorce, remarriage and infertility. The Lord transformed her grief and depression into joy through the Holy Spirit's healing powers of forgiveness and regeneration.
She began working in the Counseling field in 1986, and has a broad range of experience working with adults, teens and children at in-patient hospitals, public mental health facilities, and in private practice. She has counseled with individuals, couples, families and groups, has led counseling seminars for the community at local area churches and hospitals, has been a frequent guest on the radio speaking on mental health issues, and has taught and mentored other masters-level therapists.
She uses effective and proven counseling techniques blended with Biblical principles in her counseling, and will often refer to Scriptural passages. She also enjoys praying for and with her clients during sessions.
